Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the rare mobile RPG that doesn't drown you in menus before letting you fight anything. You start with one scrappy hero and slowly build a party of four, each with their own quirks and a surprisingly well-written reason for tagging along. The writing has a dry sense of humor that kept me reading optional dialogue I'd normally skip.
Combat is turn-based and leans into positioning. Where your characters stand on the grid matters, and swapping front and back rows mid-fight became my favorite trick against tougher bosses. Progression is generous — you can grind if you want, but I finished most of the main story just by playing naturally.
There's an auto-battle option for the grindy bits, which I appreciated, though the manual fights are where the fun lives. It's a big game that somehow never felt like a chore.
